It is bittersweet when the legal department for a Fortune 500 company tells us we’ve done such a great job they’re buying our client
The story
It’s happened to us multiple times. We’re with a startup from near its beginning, filing tens of patents for them and then the client gets purchased. The Fortune 500 purchaser then tells us, “Great job on the patents! Your work adds tremendous value to the company!”
… then we lose the client because they have their own in-house patent attorneys.

Suppose someone has your username, password, and even fingerprint and cellular phone number and logs into your online banking. Then they transfer $1 million from your account.

Tel-Tech purchased by IAC
Call routing and forwarding
IAC, owned by the famous Barry Diller, was the HSN shopping network, USA Network, and currently owns People magazine, the Daily Beast and others. Our client, Tel-tech was purchased by IAC. We were kept on as attorneys for the company until IAC resold Tel-tech.
Tel-tech was the creator of the famous Spoofcard before branching out to various telecom features.
